A knee doctor begins by identifying the cause of knee pain through a detailed physical examination and appropriate imaging, such as X-rays or MRI scans. This structured assessment helps determine whether symptoms are related to conditions such as ligament injuries, arthritis or meniscal tears. Your doctor will also examine your prior medical history to look for possible causes.
Once the source of your knee pain has been identified, your doctor can begin treatment to help manage the
pain. Management typically starts with non-surgical options, including physiotherapy, medication and targeted
injections.
When conservative treatments are insufficient, your knee doctor may recommend surgical procedures, such as
arthroscopy or total knee replacement.
Managing knee pain is only part of the solution. A knee doctor also focuses on preventing future flare-ups and preserving joint health. Through tailored rehabilitation plans, lifestyle adjustments and ongoing monitoring, your knee doctor can advise you on how to reduce strain on the knee, improve stability and stay active with greater confidence in the years ahead.
Arrange a personalised evaluation and discuss suitable care options.
